Activity related to the proposed action:

The work involved in the COST action are very close to the current resarch activities of 
the Networking and Telematics Services Research Group at the UPF. Specially the following
topics are focusing our investigation: performance analysis of multimedia traffic in 2,5, 
3G, location issues in mobile networks and WLAN mobile systems. In more detail, our research
areas related to this COST action by covering: 
a) Traffic analysis and modelling in both, network (scaling properties) and multimedia source
traffic modelling (HTTP, voice and video models). 
b) Proposals on resource allocation mechanisms and MAC protocols based on QoS requirements. 
c) Mobility and location awareness in mobile systems, developing multimedia applications and 
services based on user location.
