Our research group has been working on traffic characterization for several years. We are currently working on modeling the UMTS traffic, applying this to performance evaluation and developing new handoff schemes. We are involved in research projects funded by the EC (Emily on location on 2.5G and RIU on Wireless TCP) and Telefonica (location on 3G).
