Dissemination plan (dated back to 2002)Researchers from universities, manufactures, operators and research laboratories will work in close co-operation with mutual and continuous exchange of information. As a result, it is expected that TDs reflecting the progress in the work being done throughout the project will be presented at the WG meetings, after which some of these documents will be consolidated into contributions to standardisation bodies. At the end of each year an Interim Annual Report will be compiled on the basis of TDs and other outcomes. By the end of the Action, the publication of the technical Final Report will be organised. This report will contain the main results achieved in the Action and will be structured as a book, by topical chapters reflecting main Action’s areas of research, thus creating conditions for it to be a reference for further work of researchers. Since the area of multimedia mobile/wireless networks with QoS guarantees is of a great importance in the telecommunication industry, and also of large impact in the society, one can expect that the outcomes from this Action will be of particular interest at the European level for a wide number and range of entities.
Dissemination of results is a key aspect in R&D today. The way to accomplish it is active participation in high-profile international seminars; workshops and conferences where COST Action results will be presented. This will increase the number of external reactions and criticism to the ideas, suggestions, proposals and solutions proposed within this Action, as well as enabling a wider dissemination of results. Taking the experience from the Actions mentioned earlier, workshops will be organised in cooperation with other running Actions that have points of contact with this one in order to achieve a cross-fertilisation. These Workshops are not only intended to increase the visibility of the Action, but also to make it possible to bring the knowledge from outside experts into the Action. The way Workshops will be organised enables a wide exchange of information within the COST framework and fosters stronger links with researchers in areas adjacent to those of the Action.
Contributions to IETF, ITU and ETSI standardisation bodies are expected, especially for what concerns the technical solutions to support the QoS in both access and core networks. The Action Web site/portal will contain documentation publicly available to highlight the main results achieved in this Action. In particular, it is envisaged that it will contain a general brochure, the Technical Annex, the list of Signatories with the related involved participants, the Action work breakdown structure, contact persons for the different WGs and white papers (derived from TDs) that can describe some interesting results achieved in the Action.
