Activity related to the proposed action: Georg Carle has been working on a number of issues related to QoS control in Multimedia-enabled wireless networks, which he is willing to bring into the action, in particular in the areas of QoS measurements, QoS support by link-level and transport level error control, active network based mechanisms for QoS support, QoS control enhancements of signalling for for streaming applications, and charging for QoS. In the European COST263 action 'Quality of future Internet Services' he leads the task on QoS Charging. At GMD/Fraunhofer FOKUS in Berlin, he has been the leader of more than 15 projects funded by the European R&D program, national research programs and industry. He co-authored over 60 papers in conference proceedings and journals. He is active as member of program committees of several workshops (IPTel2000, QofIS2000, IWAN2000, IWQoS2001, IPTel2001, IPTel2002, QofIS'2002, IWAN'2002, IPTel'2003) and as co-chair of the Workshop on Protocols for High-Speed Networks (PfHSN'2002); the Workshop on High-Speed Networking (HSN'2003), and the workshop on Networked Group Communication (NGC'2003).
