Activity related to the proposed action:

Numerous projects funded by the European Union (Intermon, NGNi, Sequin), 
the Swiss National Science foundation (MICS, MIPTel, CATI, Anaisoft 
etc.), and industrial partners in the area of Quality-of-Service, 
traffic engineering, and mobile communications have been or are being 
performed. Several of the projects combined several of these issues. For 
further information and project overview see: 
www.iam.unibe.ch/~rvs/research/. In particular, we investigated 
architectures to provide Differentiated Services for mobile users have 
been developed and evaluated. In addition, service level agreement 
issues and mobile virtual private networks have been investigated. In 
the future, we want to focus on traffic engineering considering mobile 
user behaviour as well as charging and accounting for QoS in wireless 
networks.
