Some information on how to reach TNO ICT in Delft can be found at http://www.tno.nl/informatie-_en_communicatietechnologie/contact/delft/. BY PLANE, FROM SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: If you fly to our mainport near Amsterdam, you can take a train from the basement of the airport to DELFT, and switch at "DEN HAAG HS". This journey takes 41 minutes by train (8 euro, second class) . Take a taxi from the railway station in Delft to the above TNO ICT facilities. All Dutch train information can be found at www.ns.nl . The map below shows the route by train from Schiphol airport to Delft, about 50 km. BY PLANE, FROM ROTTERDAM AIRPORT: The regional airport near Rotterdam is very close to Delft (5 km or so), and this gives an advantage over Schiphol airport. For those who can have a convenient connection to that airport can take a taxi directly from there to the TNO ICT facilities. Details can be found at www.rotterdam-airport.nl BY INTERNATIONAL TRAIN CONNECTIONS: International train connections from/via Belgium or Germany to Delft are readily planned using the excellent German site http://www.db.de/site/bahn/en/start.html which operates in various languages and seems to cover all of Europe. when in Delft, hail a taxi to get to TNO ICT. Hotel information If you need a hotel in Delft, you can find a list of hotels at: www.delfthotels.nl/eng/index.html (and probably many other lists as well). Some options to consider are: (i) if you take a hotel in the city center, you can really enjoy the nice "atmosphere" of the city of Delft (highly recommended), but you have to take a taxi to the TNO ICT premises. (ii) hotel 'Campanile Delft' is on walking distance from TNO ICT (simply cross the freeway), but it is in a dull and quiet location at the edge of the town. http://www.hotels.nl/delft/campanile/ (iii) The Accor hotel in The Hague and the Moevenpick hotel in Voorburg are also often used by our guests: http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhotels/fichehotel/gb/mer/1317/fiche_hotel.shtml and www.moevenpick-voorburg.com (in both cases you have to take a tram or taxi to the TNO ICT premises). _______________________________________________ Cost290 mailing list Cost290@cs.tut.fi https://mailman.cs.tut.fi/mailman/listinfo/cost290
